Mark This Moment

Hired by Oaks Christian School, MWP was tasked with writing, producing and directing this sprawling piece for the new Mark This Moment campaign that launched at the 2019 Oaks Christian Gala. This was Oaks Christian’s most successful fundraising campaign. The short film follows three kids whose lives are forever changed. For Leah, it’s chasing after the ice cream truck and realizing she’s super fast. For Lexi, it’s watching rocket launches at night with her dad and wanting to go to space. And for Leo, it’s receiving his first camera as a gift on Christmas morning. Leah becomes a winning athlete at OCHS and goes on to win gold at the Summer Olympics. Lexi studies STEM at OCHS and becomes an astronaut. And Leo displays his photographs in the halls of Oaks Christian and goes on to become a world famous photographer. Each of these students has a “mark this moment” event in their lives and it’s because of the generosity and stewardship of OCS donors that other kids will have the same opportunities that Leah, Lexi and Leo had.

Filmed over two days in and around Oxnard and Westlake, as well as on the OCHS campus, the amazing crew battled the cold rain to bring this piece to life.
