*We got Jack Dorsey to smile

Recently, Team MWP filmed for two days at the brand new Square Headquarters in downtown Oakland, capturing several segments for the third annual Square Unboxed, a 1-day virtual conference highlighting the new products and services available to developers, partners and business owners. Hired by Giant Spoon and Neves Creative, we worked closely with the Square design team, making sure the filming and editing met their unique vision and expectations. We managed multiple 4K cameras on set, complex transitions that featured footage from our drone and intricate 2D tracking shots. Knowing where practical neon lights, signs and digital glyphs were placed, and how they helped tie together the overall look and feel, was incredibly important to our client. Our team of editors had one week to put the 3-hour program all together complete with graphics, visual effects and mastering multiple deliverables for the platform team. One of the many challenges we overcame was making the remote recordings look as good as the in-person filming even though the remote recordings didn’t have the same tools that our crew had on site. This year’s Square Unboxed was a huge success thanks to Lauren Williams, Keith Neves, Greg Davis, Dave Ragsdale, Leah Warshawski, Todd Soliday and Miles Lippold.
